I generally love abstract photography and I think this is a great example of something simple, yet impactful. The black and white tones add up to the repetition in this photograph, and the synergy of these two aspects makes it more than just a black and white photo of a stairwell. Personally I would have tried to take a symmetrical shot, but that's more a matter of how you like your abstract art. A personal opinion. This is still well balanced out, despite the asymmetricality (is that a word?) of it, and that can be a hard thing to do.
In a nutshell: great job

I favorited this because it brings back memories of the first positive experience I had in an art class as a child. It was the first design I felt successful in creating. As a Language Arts teacher, I've taught my studentshow to sketch it during their "free time" for years. Thanks for the reminder!
